Petra (The British accredited independent research and consulting center) for packaging and food contact materials tested OPC PP grades and issued an official statement on July 30, 2003 , announcing that the polypropylene grades produced by Oriental Petrochemicals Co. are complying and approved without restriction with FDA regulations, and all conditions under EU Directive 2002/72/ EC, and UK statutory Instrument 1376 (1998) related to finished articles/ materials manufactured from plastics and comply with the overall migration and FDA extraction links of the published ( USA) FDA code of Federal Regulations CFR 21 section 177. 1520 (C) 1.1 .

All OPC grades are suitable for use in packaging, transporting or holding
foods, without any restriction .

Hence, end converters and users should also ensure that their finished products do not bring about an unacceptable change in taste or odour of food products as required by the above three regulations.
